The model will include two parts, a control model and a decision model (go/no-go) and optimization will be based on data collected from Field Operational Tests and test track studies. Data is already available. That is, the focus is on driver’s decision to turn left before or after an oncoming vehicle in a left-turn-across-path/opposite-direction scenario, but also to perform the turn in a realistic manner. The model will be implemented in Matlab/Simulink. A minor validation will be included, using a separate validation dataset. -
