Remote position responsible for the development and management of university identity and automation operations. Manage, hire, and train staff, conduct performance reviews, and provide leadership and coaching, including technical and personal development programs for 5 team members. Supervisor - in addition to the duties as Lead Directory Engineer, supervise one full time analyst, assign and oversee projects and work performed, as well as training for tier 2 Help Desk problem resolutions. Analyze and improve upon the overall Identity Management university process to create a coherent, automated identity solution. Unified Directories project Lead Engineer. Design, implement, and maintain the University’s identity management system built for data synchronization and integration between directories and databases including Novell eDirectory, Microsoft Active Directory, and Oracle. Owner of the NetIQ Identity Manger software/system responsible for data exchanges between directories. Recommend and design identity management policies consistent with the University’s needs and state audit requirements. Plan and execute software and hardware upgrade strategies to maintain high security and compatibility standards. Plan and provide direction for future identity management integrations.Lead Directory Engineer. Manager of existing campus eDirectory with planned software and hardware upgrades, schema management, database security, backup management, and overall system health monitoring. Maintain current script driven identity architecture and update as needed to meet the needs of application integrations or other architectural changes. Manage campus password policies between all domains and eDirectory. Mentor junior Directory Services staff with regard to eDirectory, Microsoft Active Directory, and identity management best practices. Tier 2 Help Desk. Respond to general Unified Directories identity management problems that require deeper analysis and correction than is available to Tier 1. Respond to general directory problems that require deeper analysis of existing script driven identity architecture including data feed analysis. Maintain, distribute and troubleshoot InCommon SSL security certificates for the University as well as MFA support.

Supervisor - Lead and manage 1 full time staff member and up to 2 hourly student employees in daily support procedures and operations for the department.Support, deployment, consultation, and protocol development for information technology resources including desktop computing, departmental Active Directory structure, SharePoint, 6 computer design studios, 2 computing labs, 20 research laboratories, classrooms, and all faculty/staff and research computers spanning several buildings on the College Park campus that are part of the PSLA department. Support, deployment, upgrade, and maintenance of departmental web servers, RAID protected file servers, print servers, license servers, and backup servers as well as develop, audit, and implement system security via policy and procedure.Manage annual operating IT budget of $70,000 and have been successfully awarded $150,000 through various campus programs for technology acquisition over a 5-year period.Technical asset acquisition, asset reservation management, tagging for inventory, as well as asset life cycle management and software licensing for the department. Design, development, and oversight of departmental internet and intranet web sites including content creation, content management, web page updates, user access management, and security policy design. Network analysis and integration of departmental business unit and research systems. Business unit workflow analysis, design and oversight using university integrated systems.
