From a very young age it was clear to me that I wanted to become a scientist. Two things altered my world as a child: Chess and Books. Being introduced to chess by a supervisor in preschool got me interested in strategy as well as all kind of mental puzzles and riddles. Soon after I found out about the world’s greatest puzzle – Science. Getting access to the public library during primary school made it impossible for my parents to separate me from books. Luckily not all my life happened in front of books and screens. Working in different non-scientific jobs to finance my studies as well as getting out into the field during my Bachelor Studies in Geoscience made me appreciate the company of people as well as nature, both things I love deeply. So it was easy to identify the scientific field I wanted to dive into deeper. I want to help fight climate change to create a sustainable future, so that my two favorite things can be as interesting and beautiful for generations to come, as they are for me now. Since I think the truth lies in a broad approach that considers lots of different perspectives it made sense to try and utilize the allrounder under the materials: Ceramics.
