Responsible for the safe execution of environmentally sound, cost effective, mechanical and electrical maintenance support at the Ethylene Oxide facility. In this role, I'm responsible for ensuring compliance to corporate goals, policies and procedures with oversight of 7 engineers and 50 maintenance personnel.

I was the focal point for the complex’s stationary equipment program, providing supervision to the company inspectors, directing the activities of contract inspectors and ensuring the safe execution of $8MM in yearly program maintenance work (CUI/CUF/Paint). • The Bayport Complex consists of three manufacturing sites:o an Ethylene Oxide, Ethylene Derivatives and Glycol chemical site (BCO), o a Propylene Oxide and Tertiary Butyl Alcohol chemical site (BLO),o a Polypropylene polymers site (BYO).• Advance GoalZero culture by making sustainable improvements in the execution of safety.o Contract sponsor for Mistras, PetroChem and BrandSafway companies.o Development and implementation of Corrosion Control Documentso Developed and implemented strategy to address Out of Service stationary equipment across the complex.o Facilitated systematic update of operating conditions for equipment covered by Risk Based Inspection software.o Reduced site procedure variability by producing 26 common fixed equipment procedures for use across the entire complex.o Realigned inspection department to LYB Model Work Flow at BCO.• Manages the budget and personnel attached to the Corrosion Under Insulation, Fireproofing and Paint programs, including 110 contract employees. o Consistently and effectively spends funds in accordance with RBI.o Reduced SIPA companies from 2 to 1 and contractor managers from 3 to 1, reducing overhead and allowing for more improvement in the field.• Leads the development of technical assessment packages for fire damage, hot taps, stopples, line freezes, welding on live equipment, etc.• Leads EDRM (Equipment Deficiency Risk Assessment) teams, which includes development of an initial assessment memo, a remediation plan, tracking of action items, and closure.• Supported Turnarounds as Inspection Engineer or Reliability Lead, focusing on scope development during discovery.o BCO T/A, July – August 2016o BLO Plant 3 T/A, Sept – Nov 2016

Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance function along with all third party work that occurs at the site.

During this time, unplanned downtime for our plant was reduced from 8.9% to 5.6% through systematic improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs and targeted project work.Presented regular downtime updates to plant management, including Pareto charts and addressing systematic prevention/ repair plans. Managed the predictive maintenance program; including vibration, oil, infrared and ultrasound analysis.Extended oil life on 4 air compressors from 6 – 13 months by combating varnishing conditions due to chemical ingestion.Developed the detailed vibration spectrum for our 7 critical gearboxes, allowing us to attribute vibration deviations to specific components and proactively plan for replacement.Discovered varying levels of sodium nitrite in our soft water system and addressed to ensure proper corrosion protection, which led to increased heater life and cost savings.Oversaw the removal of 70k lbs of structural steel and equipment, all done without a safety incident and with no impact to production uptime.Developed and implemented an API 510 & 570 Site Inspection Plan for our site’s pressure vessels and PSVs.Developed CUI procedure for consistent inspection and remediation going forward.Designed layout and oversaw installation and start-up of new 350HP compressor, dual surge tank, and dryer system.Active volunteer for Global Safety Day and Goal Zero Facilitator for entire site.Led a safety focus group to identify and address plant wide overhead hazards.

Responsible for applying and ensuring company standards are properly applied to all fixed equipment for my area of responsibility; including daily work and planned shut downs.Assigned to Cat Area in 2005; where I was mechanical lead for 5 Turn Arounds and Shut Downs.Oversaw the unexpected engineering, replacement and installation of C9A/B catalyst lines (refractory lined 42"OD x 133' each) during the 35 day 2007 T/A.Resolved BLCOH D002 flange misalignment issues on 24" 1500# flanges, resulting in repeatable $140k production and time savings per outage.Promoted and moved to Reforming Area in 2008 where I was mechanical lead for 9 Turn Arounds and Shut Downs.Immediately recognized, and initiated repair scope for both the unit support structure and reactor inlet spring cans during C Reformer 2009 T/A. Evaluated repair of four 13,500# spring cans, but ultimately replaced while avoiding unit start up delay.Led and exercised ownership of C Reformer stacked reactor center screen repairs on 2009 T/A. Catalyst migration losses were $100k per year and growing in addition to the increasing downstream plugging issues.Proactively sourced replacement equipment for the unexpected Unicracker outage in February 2010, resulting in $425k per day losses. I had materials onsite, fabricated, installed and verified during this difficult economic period.

Among the $1.5M in capital improvements I had installed as the sole engineer, I simultaneously managed and led two contractors and a consultant on a $970k pneumatic conveying project. As a Six Sigma Green Belt, my team saved our Low Index Department $315k.

I worked intermittently throughout college, in both the Operations and Projects Departments, learning the importance of safety, environmental responsibility, reliability, cost savings and efficiency.
