I am a dedicated, professional, compassionate person, and Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner, who strives to provide exceptional patient centered care to the Adult/Geriatric Population.I started off my career in healthcare as a CNA at a skilled nursing facility in Springfield, MI, called Evergreen Senior Care and Rehab. This is where I grew to love caring for the Adult/Geriatric Population. I then shifted my focus to in hospital patient care and this took me to a Level I Trauma Center at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI, where I worked as an Emergency Department Technician (EDT). I was an Emergency Department Technician both at this location, and then later at the Bronson Battle Creek Emergency Department in Battle Creek, MI. While working in these various healthcare positions I attended Kellogg Community College for my Associates of Science, Western Michigan University for my Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Health and Human Services, and then I decided to pursue my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. While obtaining my BSN, in my final year of the program at the Bronson School of Nursing in Kalamazoo, MI, I chose to take a Nurse Extern position in the Medical ICU at Bronson Battle Creek. This allowed me to grow and prepare for a job as a Graduate Nurse and then Registered Nurse in the Medical ICU at Bronson Battle Creek upon graduation.When I was hired for my position as a Registered Nurse in the Medical ICU at Bronson Battle Creek upon graduation from WesternMichigan University, I was asked what my "Five Year Plan" was. In short my five year plan was to grow as a Registered Nurse in my interpersonal/communication skills & my critical care nursing knowledge, provide the best possible patient-centered care through close interaction and effective communication with the interdisciplinary care team, increase my nursing clinical/technical skills and to obtain both my Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and APRN Certification so that I could advance my knowledge and skills to work as a Nurse Practitioner in the hospital setting.I obtained my CCRN in 2021 and I recently graduated from the University of Michigan in May of 2024, with my Master's of Science in Nursing, with a focus in Adult Gerontology Acute Care. As of 07/01/2024, I am certified to practice as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with a focus of Adult Gerontology (ACNPC-AG).I am looking to expand my knowledge from here and to provide the best possible care for the vulnerable Adult/Geriatric Population in the hospital/clinical setting.
