As a Senior Environmental Engineer within EKPC’s Environmental Compliance team, I served in a variety of capacities related to our water and waste compliance programs. I managed, reviewed, updated and certified the Spill Prevention Countermeasure and Control plans for all of our substations (385+ facilities) and reviewed and certified all plant and other facility plans as they are updated. I lead our KPDES and KDWM permitting efforts for capital projects. I assisted our Plant and Production Engineering staff in the operation, maintenance and expansion of three special waste landfills; responsibilities included conducting inspections, maintaining our groundwater monitoring program, assisting with capital projects during the planning, design, and construction phases, and self-performing design and construction oversight for projects as needed. I also acted as Project Manager for a host of environmental-based special projects for various parts of our company. I acted as Environmental Lead as requested to assist Production Engineering Project Managers on major capital projects. I participated as a team member in the review, interpretation and development of compliance plans for new environmental rules as issued by EPA (e.g., CCR Rule and ELG). I also assisted our Cooperatives and member-owners with SPCC related design, construction, plan updates, and training as required.

University Of Kentucky Student Chapter

I provide technical oversight for the Student Chapter of EWB at the University of Kentucky. The current project for the Chapter is the construction of a water supply network for the community of Lagunas Cauches in Guatemala.
