I have over 27 years in experience of dealing with the public in Customer Services positions, both in face to face and telephone positions. Starting with my role on the Customer Enquiry Counter in the former Royal Mail Delivery Office for the SW1 postal area. Assisting residents, businesses in the area and both Members of the Houses of Parliament and staff at the Royal Household with enquiries on the postal service to the area and issues with deliveries of mail. Through shop assisting and Managing in Sense charity shops. Offering help with finding specific Musicians or Authors through to my more recent work in Social Housing call centers. Raising housing repairs, advising on issues relating to general housing through to reporting issues of Anti-Social Behavior and showing support and empathy to those people who have undergone very stressful situations. Handling each situation in every environment with a professional manner and an 'approachable nature'.I can work as part of a team and value updates and new information on certain situations that I can then pass back to customers .Similarly, I can work unsupervised in situations, once aware of the requirements expected of me.I have long experience of talking to people who are in both distressed and aggressive moods whether because of the cancellation of an expected repair with the person taking time away from work to get it done or a family coming back to their house on Christmas day to find it broken into and presents stolen. Treating each person with respect and understanding of their temperament and showing concern and empathy in both situations whilst seeking to resolve each situation.Working on both the Customer enquiry counter at Royal Mail as well as the Public enquiry counter in Westminster Magistrates Court has brought me into contact with everyone from a wide spectrum of social backgrounds and countries and I have sought to handle each one with respect and professionalism.
