I was grew up with my three siblings on a 560 acre hay/cattle ranch in Falkland, B.C. From an early age I learned the value of a strong work ethics, integrity and resourceful at problem solving and mechanical systems. My first job was working on a large hog farm which gave me exposure to managment. After graduation (1983), I was hired by Fletcher Challenge (formerly Crown Zellerbach). I worked in their dimension/planer sawmill plant in Lumby B.C. then transferred to their stud mill in Armstrong B.C. In the spring of 1989 I resigned my position at Fletcher Challenge and moved to Richmond, B.C.. I was registered in the forestry program at B.C.I.T's Burnaby campus intending to pursue a career in silvaculture, but had to withdraw from courses due personal constraints. During the summer of 1989 I also worked at B.C. Packers imperial fish plant in Richmond, and for a small construction company building houses in the Queensburough area. In May 2000 was hired full-time by Emperor Specialty Foods Ltd. (then Pacific Mushrooms Ltd.) as a maintenance and facility worker. I soon took over production supervisor duties. Over my 33 year with Emperor the owner allowed me to learn and grow learning all facets of a small entrepreneurial business. I was fortunate to gain experience and skills needed to eventualy become the operations manager at Emperor. Over the years I have honed my skills, upgraded thru courses at Sauder school of business, Douglas College and a two year course offered by FITT (Forum For International Trade Training) which earned me the international recognized designation of a CITP (Certified International Trade Professional) as part of the inaugural graduating class. Post 9/11 in early 2000's food safety became a mandated requirement for fresh produce. I implemented the compaies inital GMP/HACCP and maintained it over the years our team have maintained and achieved best of vlass foodsafety standards. During my tenure with Emperor I would become a core contributor towards the growth and success of the company. I have managed all aspects of running a successful small business. I am now looking at new opportunities and opportunities to learn and grow. In my personal life I have always had a passion for nature and world around us. As a mature adult I find myself looking for any opportunity that will get me outside.
