About Patrick Bours

After a PhD in Discrete Mathematics (topic: Insertion and Deletion Correcting Codes) I worked for almost 10 years at the Netherlands National Communication Security Agency as a senior policy member in cryptology. In 2005 I moved to Gjøvik University College, first as a PostDoc researcher, followed by a permanent position as associate professor.From July 2009 to June 2012 I was Head of NISlab (Norwegian Information Security Laboratory), which is a part of the Department of Computer Science and Media Technology at Gjøvik Univeristy College. My current activities include:* Teaching 25 ECTS* Supervising 3 PhD students and co-supervising 4 PhD students.* Supervising MSc students* Research in biometrics (fingerprint, gait, keystroke dynamics) * Organizing international conferences * Member of the Norwegian Focus Group on Biometrics* Contacts with industry, governmental organizations and educational institutes for collaborating on research projects and increasing the number of studentsSpecialties: Coding Theory, CryptologyAuthenticationBiometrics, specifically: Gait recognition and (Continuous) Keystroke Dynamics
