With the continuous addition of design staff in our Quebec operation, I naturally grown in charge of the day to day operations. In 2015, we simply turned this ''de facto'' position into an actual title. I'm now happy to be in charge of the largest industrial design team in Quebec City, but also one of the best in the province, and arguably in Canada. We are now servicing clients across Canada and in the US.My roles encompassed day to day operations, growth strategy and management as well as all these all these things that makes a product development job simply great.

As a project Lead, I am the gardian of Advanta's reputation of excellence. This is done through well executed design mandates for our client. Under my design direction, a team of designer work through the different steps involved in successful design development. During all these years I've been involved in innumerable numbers of design project and with thousands of parts. In 2004 and 2009 I've been in charge of the two largest project ever to be signed with Advanta. We've moved our organisation from one that had a niche, mostly in electronic enclosure design, to a firm that now obtains mandates in the transportation, medical and in the furniture industries. Under my leadership we've implemented innovative technological solutions and continue to improve our ability to interact with our clients all over North America and beyond. We use and implementation the best collaboration tools available such as EPDM Enterprise and 3D Via Composer. Our objective is to make the development experience as if we were sitting right beside our clients every day.We are proud of our unique and strong commitment to deliver in time with the help of our long developed quality controlled design method. My team is what I value the most and with the help of my colleagues Jean-Sebastien and Kent we've been able to have 100% staff retention over the last 6 years.Trained has a technician, I value product development that is aesthetically exciting but that is also truly manufacturable; That's the Advanta way and a bit of myself.

I was in charge of most product Design Jobs going through our organisation. As a senior Designer and avid Solidworks user I've build the foundation and good design practices that made Advanta successful in the marketplace. In 1999, I move from Calgary to Quebec City to open a Satelite office and I've been in charge of the development of this office since that time. I'm now sharing this task my partner of always, Jean-Sebastien Langlois. By the time I move to Project Lead and Designer our office had grown from myself to 4 full time designers.

I was hired by GID as I stepped out of school (Technical Industrial Design Program). I was identified as a candidate with the potential to learn a new 3D solid modeler replacing Autocad and other more advanced surface modelers.I learned Solidworks, using the first licences ever aquired by a Quebec Company in 1995. Under the supervision of talented senior designers, I was in charge of technical, mechanical and product engineering work in the product design department.I developed several products in different production technologies.Injection molding from small to large parts; Car remote starter, Pool ladder, foldable presentation system, food trays, etc.Transfert Molding (BMC): Foldable Step Ladder.Thermoforming & Rotomolding: PresentationSheet Metal and machining.Aluminum ExtrusionThermoplastic ExtrusionI was involved in the selection of thermoplastic material, vendor and involved tool design and developped knowledge and a passion for injection molding.
