Mirror therapy and treadmill training for enhancing motor function after strokePhD concerned the design and implementation of a a pilot randomised controlled trial at IT Sligo in conjunction with Sligo University Hospital that examined the effects of a new combination therapy involving patients with chronic stroke. This trial addressed the rehabilitation of walking ability in patients who are no longer receiving formal rehabilitation. Results showed a potential benefit of mirror therapy and treadmill training compared to placebo in ankle muscle tone reduction.

Responsible for the creation, implementation, maintenance and progression of goal orientated individual rehabilitation plans for clients with acquired brain injury and stroke. Focus of rehabilitation is upon impairment. Core motor learning and neurophysiological approaches a priority.
