Mirror therapy and treadmill training for enhancing motor function after strokePhD concerned the design and implementation of a a pilot randomised controlled trial at IT Sligo in conjunction with Sligo University Hospital that examined the effects of a new combination therapy involving patients with chronic stroke. This trial addressed the rehabilitation of walking ability in patients who are no longer receiving formal rehabilitation. Results showed a potential benefit of mirror therapy and treadmill training compared to placebo in ankle muscle tone reduction.
