An Embedded Computing program manager is a strong leader; part of a team of program managers who execute engineering design and development programs. This individual plans, drives, tracks and reports progress of computer boards, chassis or systems. The program manager must be familiar with the design and manufacture of computer boards and/or systems. They must have excellent communications skills, an ability to create and manage delivery schedules, budgets and effectively resolve material shortages. Program managers must be able to work in a global cross functional team and be flexible in work shift. Some specific tasks are:– Technical Interface Management including Design and Peer Review management – Manufacturing and Concurrent design management and Readiness Reviews – Material requirements management including Third Party Vendor Requirements, performance and Readiness Review Material Demand Planning requirements – Communication - Manage Customer and Senior Leadership Team expectations and ensure Roles and Responsibilities are understood by all team members. Influence, manage conflict and conduct negotiations – Track Schedule Performance, reporting, critical path, milestone monitoring, analysis and correction measures and the revenue impact of product availability delay – Track Cost Management – labor, material, capital, expenses and outside services – Risk Management - calculate and address risk, define risk reduction activities and prove an ability to avoid negative project impact– Issue management- resourceful tracking and response to improve risk situations both internal and customer facing – Product Continuity Readiness – understand product lifecycle and end-of-life processes – Perform as the interface to the customer – Perform as the single point of contact for global Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain and other Emerson organizations to meet program requirements. – Demonstrates enthusiasm towards the team, co-workers and Emerson
