Hello! My name is Patrick Buis.I am currently working as Safety and Rescue Technician with Sentry Fire and First Aid Instructor with Bluewater First Aid. This has given me many opportunities to work in a variety of physically demanding, challenging, and potentially hazardous environments and continually grow my knowledge and skill set. My job environment has given me a great deal of experience mitigating hazards, developing rescue plans, working within various roles and settings, an instruct a variety of industrial safety and first aid courses.I have held many roles within various team dynamics both inside and outside of the workplace. These roles generally involved working with others to solve problems while under stress. Notably, I completed the Pre-Service Firefighter program through Lambton College and trained as an Infantry Reservist within the Canadian Armed Forces.Besides this, I love to volunteer and give back to my community through various organizations such as the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village, Learning Disabilities Association of Chatham-Kent, Goodfellows Porchlight Campaign, Relay for Life, and Halloween for Hunger. I am currently training to become an Emergency Management Volunteer and Personal Disaster Assistant within the Red Cross!My employers will say that I am a team player who is driven, motivated, hard-working, and always eager to learn new skills and develop them at every opportunity!
