My role as Senior Transport Planner within the Integrated Transport Strategy Directorate of Transport Malta involves the management of a team of planners for the development of sustainable national transport policy. This entails the management and coordination of projects of national importance from tendering to implementation stages.Included in my role is the assessment and analysis of EU regulatory proposals and directives and their successful integration into national transport policy and frameworks. In the course of my work, I represent Transport Malta at various international meetings and conferences. I am also Malta’s representative on various Expert Groups of the European Commission. My main responsibilities include:• Management and coordination of projects of national importance within the transport sector from tendering to implementation and monitoring stages.• Coordinating research and analysis for the development of national transport policy and strategy, with a focus on sustainable mobility systems• Transport modelling and forecasting activities at the macro level including coordination of the continued development of the National Transport Model• Coordination of the collection, validation, analysis, and calibration of various transport data• Coordination of geostatistical and geospatial analysis of transport data using GIS tools• Writing and creation of strategic planning reports and master plans, including public consultation• Writing of public tender and procurement documentation• Providing input on the impact of EU directives and policy on Malta through research, economic impact assessments and cost/benefit analyses. • Data Protection Controller for Integrated Transport Strategy Directorate.
