I worked in Miller Samuel Hill Brown LLP's Litigation department, dealing with a wide array of contentious civil law matters. I have a particular interest in property disputes, and am a member of the Property Litigation Association.

During my time as a trainee, I undertook seats in Private Client, Commercial Property, and Litigation.

As a part time researcher at Miller Samuel LLP my role was varied, and entailed legal research, the preparation of files for hearings and drafting documents.

As Deputy Student Director I was responsible for assisting the Student Director in ensuring the smooth running of the Law Clinic. This involved, for example, attending committee meetings, discussing longer term strategy or meeting with external supporters and University staff.

The Law Clinic is a non-profit organisation run primarily by law students at the University of Strathclyde, and provides advice and representation for those who cannot afford a solicitor, or those who do not qualify for legal aid.As a student advisor I was involved in over 25 cases, ranging from professional negligence to disability discrimination, and as a student appeared in both the Glasgow Sheriff Court and the Glasgow Employment Tribunal.

As a Case Manager I was responsible for one of six 'firms' in the Law Clinic, which contained roughly 35 students. My role involved regularly reviewing the cases that they were working on, together with being a first point of contact where difficulties arose.
