Typically performed site studies to gather pertinent data concerning damage to properties and then wrote reports detailing loss causation, extent of damages, and repair protocols. Completed over 2,500 projects. Projects involved failure analysis of wood, steel, concrete, and masonry structures; roof coverings, and building veneers. Studies involving causation included moisture intrusion through building envelopes, mold, deterioration, and differential settlement. Studies also included construction defects, impact damage, wind damage, fire damage, lightning strikes, hail damage to roofs, site drainage issues, pavement issues, trip and fall cases, and flood studies.

Managed a variety of civil/site design projects including industrial, residential, schools, churches, and small commercial projects. Engineering tasks included the full spectrum of site design including earthwork, drainage, road design, site layout, erosion control, specification, and other related tasks.

Unisorb provides products and services for machinery installations. Established a new Professional Engineering Services Department to expand the services provided by Unisorb. Main focus of department was to provide construction documents for high precision and vibration sensitive machinery installations. Product designer and co-inventor for a new patented vibration isolation system introduced in 2002. Daily duties included proposal writing, civil/structural engineering, vibration analysis, vibration isolation system design, construction inspections, and communicating closely with clients.

Worked for family construction and engineering business. Construction duties included management of construction projects, estimating, and establishing construction methods. Business administration tasks required the ability to manage computer systems, establish budgets, analyze financial documents, and write contracts. Engineering responsibilities entailed structural analysis and design, construction document preparation, specification writing, topographical surveys, site design, construction stakeouts, and computer-aided drafting.

Responsibilities included site design and road engineering projects working mostly with architects and developers. Gained valuable experience working with government agencies. Developed computer-aided drafting standards for civil engineering projects. Introduced use of total station surveying to the company.

Tasks included route surveys, construction inspections, road and highway design, bridge design, and stormwater management. Learned basic skills of project management. Took personal initiative in developing computer skills. Developed extensive spreadsheets for watershed modeling and storm sewer design.

Worked through high school and college for family engineering and construction firm as laborer, carpenter, foreman, surveyor, estimator, and draftsman. Helped set up accounting program, assisted in preparation and submission of bids, inspected buildings, and performed various general office tasks.
