I was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and grew up in small town BC (Sparwood). I left as soon as I graduated for the west coast where I spent some time in the Vancouver area before settling in Victoria for several years. After following a girl to Calgary, I went to SAIT (on a whim) and took the Cinema, Television, Stage and Radio program. During my second year I was offered a job at Calgary 7 (now Global Calgary) as a teleprompter. That quickly turned into studio camera and then the microwave truck opertator and weekend ENG photographer. I worked there for 18+ years. In 2018 I decided I needed a change. No idea what that would be but I took a leap and was unemployed. A new role opened up at CBC Calgary for an "operations producer". Not fully knowing what the role was, I applied anyway and got the job. It has been quite the rollercoaster! The responsibilities are wide ranging and deep. Everyday is a new adventure.I love hiking. Like really love hiking. Every weekend (almost) my partner and I head to the rockies. This year I plan on hitting 50 hikes and had set a goal to do the Canmore Triple Crown, which is 3 mountains in one day. On June 24th, we completed that goal. It was 12+ hours over 25 kms and 3200+meters of elevation...and we loved every second of it. I also play guitar, enjoy craft beer, am the goalie for the Canadian Citizens (10+yrs now), enjoy running, and ANY sport, I will try it all.
