After being promoted to Financial Analyst II in Corporate Reporting, my role has expanded to include:- Preparation/coordination of SEC Filings such as Form 8-K (Earnings Release), Form 10-Q, Form 10-K and Form 11-K (Employee Benefit Plan Financial Statements). Draft narrative language for each of the SEC filings with assistance from the SEC Reporting Manager and Controller.- Manage filing process of SEC reporting, including collaborating with legal, investor relations and other departments.- Assist in the maintenance of XBRL tagging process in Form 8-K, Form 10-Q and Form 10-K for the bank's cover pages, footnotes and financial statements.- Prepare quarterly forecasted financials such as the P/L, average balance sheet, net interest margin and budget analyses to assist the SEC Reporting Manager, Controller and CFO in preparation of actual quarterly results for SEC reports and month-end close meetings.- Contribute to ad hoc projects such as software testing/implementation for SEC and regulatory reporting, due diligence for audits/filings and providing support to other departments such as Accounting Policy and Corporate Tax to finalize deliverables.- Assist in the preparation of various sections of the bank's regulatory reports, including the Call reports, FR Y-9C and FR Y-8.- Assist external auditors in gathering adequate support for SEC reporting and monthly internal financial reporting.- Facilitate and review data requests for financial reporting from various divisions and business lines within the bank.- Contribute to various month-end close reporting such as the Consolidated P/L, subsidiary reporting, board reporting, and variance analysis pertaining to the balance sheet, other income/other expense and net interest margin.

Since becoming one of the main accountants at Ellicott Development after receiving my Bachelor's degree, I have been given the responsibility for accounting for 25 of EDC's subsidiaries. Duties and responsibilities include:- Completing monthly bank reconciliations for corporate checking accounts- Preparing the core financial statements including the Balance Sheet, Profit/Loss Statement, Operating Expense report, and Trial Balance- Prepare journal entries and financial statements in accordance with GAAP- Analyzing the financial statements to ensure correctness and determine variances and trends- Completing month-end closing procedures such as reconciling A/P, A/R as well as posting journal entries to the general ledger to account for events during the current period- Completing various schedules to assist in maintaining the financials such as Fixed Asset purchases/additions for depreciation and amortization, Rental Analysis, and Prepaid Expenses- Billing commercial and residential tenants for utilities including electricity, gas, and water- Billing commercial tenants at office buildings for escalations in real estate taxes, operating expenses, and property insurance as well as completing escrow account reconciliations for commercial tenants at retail plazas- Auditing prior-year operating expenses for commercial tenants in office, retail, and medical space for operating expense and common area maintenance escalations- Scheduling EDC's monthly corporate American Express purchases for Travel/Entertainment deductions and allocation to specific entities- Allocation of EDC Architectural Fees to subsidiaries for current projects, prospective projects, and tenant improvements/alterations- Supervise the process of Federal 1099 form preparation for vendors, contractors, and employees- Recording monthly, quarterly and annual payroll related expenses such as group health insurance, 401K employer contributions, disability insurance and workers compensation insurance

During my time as an intern in the accounting department, I completed many projects to assist the Chief Financial Officer, Senior Controller, Assistant Controller, Senior Accountants, A/P and A/R clerks in the company's day-to-day operations.
