Lab Head Molecular Biology • Cloning and overproduction of recombinant proteins in bacterial expression systems. • Making gene `knock outs` mutants in E. coli and P. aeruginosa. • Mutagenesis of bacterial genes. • Development of reporter-gene assays for the analysis of promoter inductions. • IC50 determinations of Basilea compounds on purified recombinant proteins • Cell culture and cAMP assay using eukaryotic cell lines. • Gene expression analysis using quantitative real-time PCR.

Lab Head Molecular Biology • Molecular biology like cloning and overproduction of recombinant proteins in bacterial and in the yeast Pichia pastoris expression systems and their use for binding studies.
