I am passionate about traumatic brain injury-concussion and the multifaceted personal challenges these patients and their families face. As founding director of the UCI Neurology Traumatic Brain Injury & Concussion (NTBIC) Program, I am leading the growth of an unique academic clinical-research program encompassing an inpatient consultative program and dedicated clinic. I am a Harvard trained neurologist who maintains a diverse array of clinical skills including critical care medicine and procedures, neurologic ward medicine, acute stroke/vascular neurology, post-discharge clinics and tele-neurology/stroke. Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, Irvine (UCI Medical Center).My research themes include TBI long term outcomes, TBI and chronic disease, concussion phenotypes, & multimodal monitoring in the ICU. My work is at the exciting intersection of TBI/Concussion, chronic disease and brain health. I believe clinical research pursuits can both be entrepreneurial and practical, and I am developing skills to leverage large data through statistical/machine learning methods. I was former Chief Resident in Neurology at UC San Diego Medical Center, where I gained a skillset in stroke related clinical research, medical education development and program administration. Former Harvard Neurocritical Care Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital-Brigham and Women's (Harvard Medical School). Board Certified in Neurology (ABPN) & Neurocritical Care (ABPN). I am open to collaborations and opportunities to improve acute neurologic care and long term brain health of neurology patients.
