I hold a PhD in Biomedical Sciences with a specialization in Molecular Biology and Tumor Immunology. In my current position at GSK Vaccines I am primarily in charge of the molecular design and production of vaccine prototypes, from the initial set of candidates entering preclinical testing to the final pre-GMP seed delivered to Process Development. I am also in charge of more fundamental research activities, such as investigating the impact of vaccines or adjuvants on the host system and trying to understand how thiose interactions can lead to host protection or patient clinical response. Over the years I believe I have developed a good understanding of the interface between Research and Development, and learned how to appropriately balance exploratory work with business objectives and constraints.
