Designed and led the development of various web applications and services for Shaw’s internal systems. Client side development was primarily done using JavaScript, JQuery, HTML and CSS, while server side used C#, ASP.NET, and SQL. Projects were performed under an agile development environment.Key achievements:• Initiated various re-factoring projects to improve the code base, reducing SLOC (Source lines of code) by over 30%, leading to a 15% reduction in overall development time.• Developed a customer facing web-service that determines the available telecommunication services that the company can provide to a customer. It is currently being used in the company website; a site which has an average traffic of 2.5 million visits per month.• Created a client side plug-in that searched, validated and standardized the company's address retrieval process. It is now being used in many of the company's internal web applications, as a standardized searching tool.• Participated in projects that aimed at improving the team’s development processes. This includes adapting the BAIT architectural model (Business, Application, Information, and Technology) into the existing project models.

Development was done in Java using the Eclipse development environment as well as VB, while back-end development was done in SQL. Increased proficiency with the software development process through hands-on experience. All projects were performed using agile software design methodologies.Key achievements:• Initiated and managed optimization projects for the organization’s flagship product, which increased system efficiency by over 40%, and addressed over 35% of the main customer nuisances with the product. • Worked in conjunction with sales team in Europe in order to create a new and innovative data migration process, which consequently led to the successful signing of several client companies.• Re-designed multiple graphical user interfaces (GUI), which led to smoother user interaction with the product, and an increase in product functionality and usability.• Responsible for all maintenance projects, and was able to address and meet each target goal for every product release.

Developed and maintained the automated test software for the reliability QA group. Was solely responsible for the implementation of blackberry device drivers for the same group. Software development was done in C++ using the Microsoft Visual Studio IDE as well as some development using Labview. Key achievements:• Designed new test software for the Blackberry 8800, and Pearl 8100 devices, to include tests for the new GPRS (3G) features.• Introduced a new test suite that enabled testing of multiple devices in succession, which increased testing efficiency and eliminated the need for allocating additional resources during non-core hours for testing.• Centralized the management of inventory and test data through a single web interface, reducing the time it takes to analyze the data from different tests by over 20%.• Responsible for the training and development of new interns by serving as a mentor.
