Patrick Clement is an experienced business leader who began his career as a research economist with the Rural Bank. During a long commitment to the Agribusiness sector he held senior marketing, management and leadership positions with global Animal Health and Crop Protection companies Merck Sharp & Dohme, Pfizer and Nufarm in New Zealand and Europe. From 1986 to 1997, Patrick ran his own consultancy business whilst co-founding a start-up biotechnology and a food processing company. He also gained experience in the Not-for-Profit sector as Executive Director of Safe Network Inc, a community therapy agency for the treatment of youth and adult offenders. Patrick retired from his position as Country Manager Nufarm NZ in July 2012. During his 13 year leadership Nufarm NZ became the largest supplier of crop protection products in New Zealand and its local manufacturing facility played a key role in the company’s global supply chain. In April 2014 he took up a role as Crop and Product Manager for Nufarm Europe. He currently chairs Lost Orchard Company Ltd, which manages the IP around new apple varieties from Fashion Foods Ltd. Patrick is a past president of Agcarm, a previous Director of Nufarm Finance (NZ) Limited and past Chair of the Pasture Renewal Charitable Trust. He holds an Agricultural Science degree, a Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling and a Certificate in Company Direction.
