Patrick is an experienced General Counsel with over 15 years in-house experience preceded by 9 years in private practice with leading City Law Firms. An effective leader with a proven track record of establishing and developing Legal Functions, Patrick grew the IFDS Legal Team during period 2008-2016 by over 400%, at the same time as significantly broadening the scope of its mandate and its participation in the management and governance of IFDS's business. Patricks' tenure at IFDS has included 2 years as a Director of IFDS Managers Ltd, and an FCA Approved Person a fund hosting company, prior to the sale of that company.In 2015, IFDS was one of 5 IFDS executives from across the IFDS international joint venture to successfully complete IFDS's Global Leadership Programme - a two year, externally accredited course programme, that involved periods of study in Boston, Toronto and Dublin as well as the UK.Prior to joining IFDS, Patrick led the legal team that served one of the two main business divisions of Northgate Information Solutions plc. His experience there included helping Northgate recover from the total destruction of its headquarters and two principal data centres in the Buncefield explosion in 2005.In private practice, Patrick initially trained as an intellectual property lawyer but eventually came to specialise in technology law, IT outsourcing and data protection. Since moving in-house, Patrick has continued to build on his expertise in these areas, but augmenting it with strong domain knowledge of the Public Sector and the Financial Services industries.Patrick prides himself on being a dedicated, non-political, team-worker who aspires to combine tenacity and independence of thought with a collaborative, consensus-building approach.A seasoned executive with substantial experience of corporate governance , Patrick has the ability to interact effectively with business leaders, shareholders, clients and other stakeholders.
