I started working when I was 15, first for my High School's IT Department. I was recommended for the position by a teacher in my junior high, and I took the job because it would give me more experience in the IT field and it was a way to earn money. During my time I was taught the proper way to maintain and repair our school's laptop computers, as well as instructed the new students on the proper way to use and manage their issued laptops. I left after my senior year because I needed a job that would allow flexible hours for my college schedule. While I worked as a Deli Clerk, I became familiar with how to manage myself and my time in a fast paced environment, as well as how to make sure the customers needs are met in a timely and correct manner. When I decided to take time off from college I was recommended a job by a friend with better hours, higher pay, and better opportunities. I've been working as a support associate for almost two years now and work to ensure the needs of both the customers and my fellow employees are met. The job requires me to be flexible in my role, working as whatever is needed at the time, whether it's bringing product to our sales floor for customers, working the register, answering phones, or unpacking our latest shipment and storing the product on our shelves in an organized and simple way, such that other employees are able to locate product without issue. During my time here my manager has asked if I ever wished to pursue a career in retail management, I told her that I didn't but I'm glad that she thought to ask me in the first place. For every job I work I try my best to ensure that I'm not a burden on the other workers, I enjoy being looked at as a reliable and efficient worker, and I believe myself to be quick on learning proper procedure and regulations, with the hope of earning a management role in the HVAC field someday. I'm willing to work hard and learn a lot in order to continue my career path.
