About Patrick Coit, Phd, Mph
I have 10 years of experience exploring the epigenome in the immune systems of patients with autoimmune disorders using various types of genomic data. I enjoy learning about how to handle, analyze and visualize biological data to further our understanding of human disease. I also enjoy learning about new science and conducting experiments in the lab.I have successfully defended my PhD in Immunology and my current goal is to join the biomedical industry to further discoveries that will ultimately help patients. I'm looking for a collaborative environment working on cutting-edge health problems that provides professional development and mentorship to further my computational biology and statistical skills so I can improve my value as a scientist.I have experience at multiple stages of genomic data collection including cell isolation, preparation, data handling, cleaning, statistical and downstream analysis. I am accomplished in using the R language to facilitate data analysis, statistical modelling, and data visualization. I also have analytical experience with SAS and am a beginner in the Python environment.I have an exceptional publication history, including more than ten first-author publications and experience conveying my findings to both academic and non-academic audiences.
