About Patrick Coles
I am the Chief Scientist at Normal Computing, where I work on Thermodynamic Artificial Intelligence. Previously, I was a quantum physicist at Los Alamos National Lab (LANL), and I was the lead PI of LANL's near-term quantum computing group. I also organized LANL’s Quantum Computing Summer School. My recent research focuses on quantum machine learning, quantum neural networks, variational quantum algorithms, and noise mitigation on quantum computers. I have a broad background, having done previous research on quantum cryptography, quantum information theory, condensed matter physics, and quantum foundations.
