Operations Manager
CurrentThe Manager Operations provides strategic support to the Director of the Centre, Professor Sabina Knight AM, MICRRH including actively seeking additional grant funding to support infrastructure expansion across the MICRRH region. The Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of the Mount Isa Centre for Rural and Remote Health (MICRRH) network. The incumbent oversees community relations and ensures infrastructure, resources, finances, services and the administrative functions of the Centre support the current and future strategic and operational needs of MICRRH.The incumbent provides detailed financial management and leadership in managing the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy, coordination of MICRRH infrastructure development and facilities management.As a unit within the Division of Tropical Health and Medicine (James Cook University) it encompasses human and animal health professional areas and related biomedical science disciplines. The Division has a particular focus on the health of rural, remote and Indigenous Australian communities and tropical medicine.The Colleges of the Division include: Medicine and Dentistry, Healthcare Science, Public Health, Medical and Veterinary Sciences.The Centre is located in Mount Isa with nodes in Cloncurry, Burketown, Weipa and Longreach, MICRRH serves the large geographic region of outback Queensland. As a small academic department with a broad range of responsibilities within the rural and remote health and education sector, our mission is to lead excellence in remote, rural and Indigenous health in outback Queensland.
