The Tyndall Air Force Base reconstruction is a $4.9 Billion rebuild as a result of Hurricane Michael in 2018 destroying the entire base. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers understood the magnitude of the work and dedicated the Savannah and Mobile districts labor force comprising of 196 civilian employees and 8 active duty soldiers. Tyndall AFB is the largest base rebuild in history and the USACE team expertise includes Project Management, Construction Management, legal, contracting, environmental management and policy, financial administration, engineering, public affairs, community leaders and local engagements, regulatory compliance and auditing, and executive oversight. USACE was on site during and after Hurricane Michael and was instrumental in the acquisition strategy and all stages from demolishing and cleanup, FRCS and MILCON contracts comprising of 142 buildings through 12 acquisition zones.
