Technical Manager
CurrentTechnical Manager in Storm Water Management within the Water Resource Department.• Responsible for the overall design process and drafting effort.• Department Supervisor of CAD Technicians.• CAD Committee member for the develop, implement, and maintain CAD standards for the company.• Provide training and supervision of in-house CAD users.• Coordinate project drafting, design, and QAQC work.• Coordinate weekly CAD needs with Project Managers/ CAD staff.• Design open channel drainage, storm sewer structure, pipe networks, dams, and detention ponds.• In addition to other duties, performs the duties of a Technician and/or Designers.• Works directly with the Project Manager or Principal in Charge to aid with design and specifications.• Often act as Project Manager for smaller, less complex projects.• Assists in project management duties on larger projects under close supervision of the Principal in Charge.• Performs non-routine and complex assignments, which include responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project with diverse designs.• Prepares design calculations.• Acts in lead role over other Designers and/or Technicians (non-supervising).• Outlines objectives, requirements, and design approaches.• Completed work needs overview by engineer.• Calculates quantities and cost estimates.• Regularly coordinates with outside utility companies and municipalities to gather information necessary for design.• Regularly coordinates and/or attends meetings with project manager and/or client throughout the design process.
