I’m Patrick. I have graduated with a Masters in Critical and Creative Writing from The University of Sussex. I have a strong passion for all things words. I am fascinated by the power that writing and language possess in all facets of contemporary culture; from literature and scriptwriting, to content creation and marketing. I believe that writing is the most powerful and influential medium in an ever-changing, dynamic and innovative society. As part of my Masters course I engaged both critically and creatively with writing as a medium. I wrote short stories, developed concepts for larger pieces of work and studied writers who redefined language in the written form.I have a keen interest in the psychology of words and how stories are constructed. The landscape of the creative industries is ever-changing, with a fascinating story being a fundamental part of any campaign. Stories begin with a concept and are nurtured into existence carefully. I love seeing how an idea can grow organically and reach a large audience. I am not only driven by ideas, but by collaboration. During my BA in Fine Art, I worked as part of a contemporary art collective, producing large scale work and exhibitions which were advertised in magazines such as TimeOut. Being part of a multi-disciplined team is one of the most rewarding experiences when creating work. I also relish the challenge of a deadline. Following trends and creating content that makes noise requires that work is made quickly, but also produced to an extremely high standard and is promptly released before it is no longer relevant. I love publications and apps that consistently promote and produce high quality, egalitarian content such as TikTok, IndieWire and Slant.
