Patrick Culligan, MD, FACOG, FACS, specializes in diagnosing and treating pelvic floor disorders and urogynecologic conditions, including: urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, fecal incontinence, frequent urinary tract infections, urinary urgency, fistulas, complications of vaginal mesh or slings requiring mesh removal, labial hypertrophy and various complex gynecologic conditions. Dr. Culligan’s clinical philosophy is centered on patient education and personalized treatment paths. While minimally-invasive surgery is one of his specialties, he strives to offer a non-surgical approach to each patient.Dr. Culligan is also the founder of Origami Surgical, a medical device company that manufactures StitchKit® a sterile, single-use canister indicated for use in all types of soft tissue approximation, including gynecologic, cardiovascular and general surgery. Dr. Culligan invented StitchKit® to facilitate suture management in any “suture-intensive” robotic surgery to improve safety, surgeon autonomy and efficiency. Prior to coming to Valley Medical Group, Dr. Culligan was Director of Urogynecology at Weill Cornell Medical Center where he established and was program Director for a Board-approved fellowship in Urogynecology. . Also previously founded the Division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery for The Atlantic Health System.
