Revised the teaching material for the ‘Engineering Mechanics’ module that is taught to Mechanical Engineering undergraduates. The internship was completed in collaboration with the module professor, with whom I shared ideas and feedback to help optimize the quality of the resources for future students. Involved a critical review of the current material using module feedback from students to identify key problem areas, followed by a project planning phase where week-by-week targets were set with a complementary plan of action. Applied my knowledge of the subject area and the module syllabus to write notes that would be interpreted and understood by students new to the field. Built on my personal experience of the module to write example questions that would challenge the students whilst helping them to build up their ability. Wrote clear and concise worked solutions, including sections for common mistakes so that students could easily identify problem areas to improve on. Provided ‘learning directions’ in both the notes and the example questions so that they could easily be used in conjunction to enhance student learning. The resources I prepared have been used for the current cohort of students with more positive feedback.

Worked in the petrol filler station and main store at my local Tesco branch. Involved personal shopping, where online orders were prepared for customers in a timely manner, ensuring products were not faulty. Also involved operating the petrol station, where I assisted customers with the pumps as well as working all aspects of the station store, including stocking shelves, registering wastage and taking deliveries.
