As Team Leader I am responsible for the leadership of the Energy Management Solutions (EMS) group within Engineering Services as WalterFedy. In the past couple of years our business has been very strong as we maintain a dynamic pulse on the market . Our team serves clients across Ontario from our primary office in Kitchener and secondary office in Hamilton. My responsibilities include managing P&L for the group, setting the vision and strategy, leading staff development and recruitment strategies, and completing business development activities.

For the past 5 years working at WalterFedy I have maintained a dual role as a mechanical designer and energy analyst. This dual role has enabled me to design, analyze, and review from a variety of perspectives, seeking practical and forward-thinking ideas to enhance and integrate full building systems.Mechanical DesignerIn this position, I focus on the mechanical design and document preparation for many small to mid-sized projects mostly in the institutional and commercial fields. My responsibilities include working through design, drafting, modeling, and specification preparation, correspondence with clients, suppliers, and other design team members, and full reviews with senior engineers. My duties also include networking with the contract administration team and following the projects through the bid period, project construction, and project completion, as well as fielding and responding to various field related items. Energy Analyst Serving as the primary energy modeler, I have gained experience with the modeling requirements for facilities in the commercial, educational, institutional, and recreational sectors. From the schematic design phases of the building design process, we use energy modeling software to provide energy conservation measures for consideration by owners, architects, engineers, and suppliers. From this point on through to the construction of the building we create, analyze, and present energy simulation results for LEED® purposes. We also create calibrated energy models and energy models for incentive program applications. Competency in architecture and all engineering disciplines associated with all building system are essential.
