This allowed the components to be manufactured off-site in a controlled environment while the design process for the remaining interior finishes of the building continued in tandem. It also allowed the construction process to benefit in a reduced construction schedule while simplifying the trade coordination and reducing construction issues in the field. Pat was a great team member for the design-build process in that we worked together to design and release critical path items to keep the project moving forward. Our collaboration together on the design, detailing and implementation of the precast structure and prefabricated Pods was absolutely essential in the success of the project and keeping it within the target schedule.
