I am a 2015 graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Parkside where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. Upon graduation I was named as an Outstanding Graduate Award nominee by the faculty of the UW-Parkside history department based on my academic performance. I am interested in the preservation of history through archiving items, digitizing documents, and the researching of topics. Of particular interest for me is history that pertains to the Great Lakes region of the United States. My degree completion ushers in a new era in my life as I transition from the electronics industry, where I worked as an electronics technician for nearly twenty years, into the field of history and archival work. My work in the electronics industry includes the troubleshooting and repair of various circuit boards down to the component level; testing, diagnosing, and repair of problems with communication routing systems; and the testing, diagnosing, and repair of problems with data storage systems. Prior to my work as an electronics technician I was employed as a warehouse manager for a retail appliance store where I was responsible for managing a rotating inventory, and creating an efficient daily delivery schedule. I began my adult working career as a United States Marine, serving four years active duty as an administrative clerk, which included keeping an up to date military library of Marin Corps Publications and Bulletins for the detachment that I was assigned to. As a Marine I was awarded a Meritorious Mast, a Certificate of Commendation, and a Good Conduct Medal. Afterward, I served four years in the Inactive Ready Reserves before being Honorably Discharged. My personal interests include being outdoors and outdoor related activities/sports, antique and classic automobiles from the 1950s through the 1980s including their make and model histories.
