French Quality Assurance Tester / Localization Tester

Frankfurt Am Main, Germany

During my time at Nintendo of Europe, I worked as French Quality Assurance tester, which encloses the full text and system check of 1st, 2nd and 3rd party titles. I had the pleasure to work on various handheld and home console titles as well as being in the first team working on the localization of the Nintendo Wii U System Menu. Moreover, I worked on several software and hardware application and updates.Among the handheld titles (Nintendo DS & 3DS), I had the chance to work on games such as Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Mario Tennis Open, Pokémon Black and White 2, Puzzle & Dragons Z, Nintendo 3DS Guide Louvre. On the other side, when it comes to home console titles, I had the pleasure to work on Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Wii Party U and Wii Sports Club.“This was by far the best professional experience I had so far. Working in the gaming industry, waking up each morning and doing a job you love is a feeling you cannot surpass. Being able to work in this industry which I’m passionate about and being able to contribute to the joy of many gamers around the world is a sensational feeling and the clear sign that the gaming industry is the sector which fits the best my mind-set and skills. Due to this it is my hope to spend the rest of my professional life. I had the pleasure of meeting many talented people, from localization testers to translators, Q&A coordinators to screenshot department as well as several project managers and game producers. Spending each working day with those people for three and a half years improved my skills and taught me so much about this business. To put it in few words, it was a great adventure and the beginning of my professional career in the gaming industry. The gaming industry is my definition of wonderland and unlike Alice, I don’t want to wake up from this dream.”

Marketing And Public Relations Assistant

Belval, Luxembourg

This was my first job after finishing my studies in France. I’m very grateful to the Rockhal team for this opportunity.Over the course of several months I worked in Luxembourg’s biggest music venue. I worked on many top-notch concerts with local and international artists, it was a very challenging and interesting job. My job consisted, on the one hand, of being responsible for the internal and external communication of the venue which involves keeping the website up to date, managing advertising spaces with magazines & newspapers, keeping billboards around the country present-day, as well as working closely with graphic and design agencies. On the other hand, in order to promote our concerts, nationally and internationally, my mission was to write press releases in English, French and German, which would be used on our website as well as by newspapers and magazines. Last but not least, as Marketing and Public Relations Assistant, one of my main responsibilities was to manage relations with local and international press. I was one of the main contacts for any kind of demand from the outside and as a result I met many interesting and talented people in the business.“I’m very grateful for this opportunity, the role allowed me to grow and I learned a lot from the experience. Having a lot of responsibilities, being able to work as a team member while having individual tasks, keeping an eye on many aspects at the same time. It was a challenging job, and very similar to being a producer in my opinion. Sometimes, you may stay in the background and accomplish your daily tasks, but you will always be a person that people will contact when help is needed for something. It was great fun and the perfect way to start my professional career. It’s a place I will always look back to with a smile and where I worked with tremendously professional and awesome people who have merged their love for music together with their jobs, the same way as I do now with the video game industry.”

Event Creation/Management

Université Nancy 2

Nancy, France

Organization of the 4th edition of the festival Art Investit Nancy2, ‘Art takes over Nancy2’, held at L'Autre Canal, a music venue in Nancy, France on April 25, 2009. The first goal was to actually define a topic for the whole event, search the market for the corresponding artists, find the right locations for the different shows, present the project and its ideas to potential sponsors and finally, develop a communication strategy in order to gather the audience. The headliners of this festival were The Puppetmastaz, Blake Worrel and the French DJ Pfel. “This is one of the projects I’m the most proud of so far. The whole preparation took several months and we were 7 people. It was a fascinating challenge and I see it as a similar task to being a producer. You keep an eye on deadlines and budget, you have to motivate people when stress becomes more and more present and distribute tasks depending on the individual preferences and qualities of the people. Throughout this it’s crucial to be as structured and clear as possible. Having regular meetings and being as communicative as possible is tremendously important as you cannot take care of everything, so each individual needs to be constantly updated in order to avoid wasted time. Stress and surprises are constant elements during the full process, so plans need to be updated from time to time or even completely changed for certain aspects. Upon reaching the end of the project and you look back at the hard work and see how well everything ended up, you’re really proud of your team members and yourself.”

I worked in the Marketing & Public Relations department as Marketing & Public Relations intern and worked on concerts such as R.E.M., Queen, Mogwai, Empyr, Porcupine Tree, Cinema Bizarre, Crystal Castles & IAMX or Tito and Tarantula.“This internship opened the door to my very first job, so I’m glad the team at Rockhal gave me this opportunity. It was extremely interesting and eye-opening to see the other side of the music business, especially being the big music fan that I am and seeing the complexity and organisation of such specific events.”

Event Creation/Management Intern

Luxembourg City, Luxembourg

Internship at Binsfeld, one of Luxembourg’s most successful communication and event agencies. I worked there as event creator intern. During my internship I had two main missions. The first one was creating a database of potential locations where the agency could organize its future events, which demanded a lot of research on site. The second main task was to assist in the planning and organisation of a brand new establishment, an event that took place in Clausen, Luxembourg.“This was my very first internship and it was an excellent experience. I had the opportunity to learn from great professionals. I’m very thankful for this very first opportunity, especially as Binsfeld is one of the most renowned communication and event agencies in Luxembourg.”
