Patrick is the former CEO at Xylem (NYSE: XYL), a leading global water solutions company using affordable innovation and technology to help communities and customers address their most pressing water challenges. He serves on the Board of Directors of Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), a world leader in smart buildings. He is an active leader to others on how corporations can deliver social and economic value to create the greatest value for society. Patrick’s purpose is to UPLIFT people across various journies and intentionally applying his experience, global perspective, resources, and network. He aims to be a beacon for underserved youth, creating breakthrough opportunities for individuals and communities. He also focuses on developing purpose-driven leaders to realize their potential to create enterprises that will benefit society for the long run. Patrick was pivotal in shaping Xylem’s purpose and instilling a socially responsible culture within the company. His leadership directed Xylem's efforts to address the World’s Water Challenges. He expanded Watermark, Xylem’s signature citizenship initiative and launched Xylem Ignite, a program that empowers youth through grassroots initiatives to help their communities. Xylem built a landmark partnership with City Football Group to provide fans with essential knowledge of water challenges and actions they can take to help address these challenges. The partnership has garnered more than 1 billion social media impressions. Before Xylem, Patrick was President and CEO of Harsco Corporation, a global industrial company primarily serving the steel industry. Earlier, 2003-12, he served Tyco International in various leadership roles and was an integral executive team member who revitalized and transformed the enterprise. He was President of Tyco Flow Control, a $4B global provider of solutions to the energy and water sectors. Before Tyco, he served with Bristol-Myers Squibb for 12 years in financial and operational roles, his last role being Chief Financial Officer for the Mead Johnson Nutritional division. He spent nine years living and working in Latin America and Asia. He started his career with Price Waterhouse. Patrick has been a long standing member of the Center for Higher Ambition Leadership, comprised of leading CEOs committed to creating sustainable economic and social value. He serves on the Global Dean's Council for Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, his Alma Mater. He will serve as the prestigious Poling Chair executive in residence for the 2025/26 academic year.
