Primary role is to ensure R&D Capital Equipment project orders are timely sourced and purchase orders placed to ensure uninterrupted project flow. Working closely with Engineering and Project Management placing purchase orders per requisition, confirm receipt and track for on-time delivery, maintain expense tracker and resolve any late deliveries and invoice discrepancies. Expediting shipments as necessary. Other duties include sustaining buying activities utilizing SAP ERP system; reacting to system generated requisitions, placing purchase orders, and utilizing open PO report to ensure receipt and order confirmation. Work with Supplier Quality to qualify suppliers and issue nonconformances (NCMR) and work with AP to reconcile invoice discrepancies. Source and expedite end of life parts (EOL) and shortages utilizing supplier network.• R&D procurement support• Material Change Control/ Engineering Change Order (ECO) reviewer/approver• Work with Product Life Management Engineering (PLM) on EOL parts to source alternative parts• Expedited EOL material lead• Commodities familiarity include packaging, electronics, injection molded plastics, metals-cast and machined• Verify and maintain SAP data for accuracy• Negotiate price, delivery, and services from suppliers• Qualify new suppliers and establish payment terms• Implement Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)• Invoice reconciliation

As a member of the New Product Development team, acts as liaison between customers, suppliers and Operations. Manages supplier onboarding and relations, material flow and logistics.

My primary focus is to work with new customers along with the New Product Development (NPD) engineering team to assess supply chain needs to include development of new sources, supplier qualification per SOP, managing quotes (RFQ) for components utilizing our Approved Supplier List, negotiate for favorable pricing/terms and creating positive supplier relationships. This includes estimating warehouse space requirements and identifying any new components with special handling requirements, development and management of PFEP (Plan for Every Part). I place initial purchase orders and set up item masters in our Quality Management / ERP system, and purchase capital equipment per project quote and requisition. Additionally, I work with sustaining production to identify opportunities to lower costs, most recently localizing the suppliers for a large existing customer transfer to our Tijuana, MX facility.
