Specific onsite duties included:o Manage assigned project Surveyors to ensure uniform adherence to ABS Rules, IMO / Flag statutory requirements, and Builder's quality standards.o Monitor and advise Builder's staff across various departments on newbuilding production processes, quality control, and time / cost management for continuous improvement.o Conduct ABS project planning / administration and Surveyor manpower management.o Monitor onsite safety program / procedures, providing documented advice / feedback to correct identified safety deficiencies and invoking “stop work” measures as required.o Coordinate design approval process for both initial plan reviews and design modifications, providing technical feedback to ensure compliance with regulatory and contract requirements. o Approve / survey welding procedure specifications and testing (WPS/PQR) and oversee the qualification of Builder and Sub-contractor welders to ABS Rules.o Conduct welding inspections for all structural steel work and metallic piping systems.o Approve project NDT plans, monitor performance of onsite test methods (MT/RT/UT/PAUT), and review / acceptance of testing results.o Approve onsite testing and commissioning procedures for all ABS-certified systems and equipment to be installed onboard.o Inspect and operationally test the installation of all ABS-certified systems, equipment, and components to contracted standards leading to final commissioning and acceptance.o Initial issuance of all Classification and Statutory Certificates as contracted with Builder.
