I am trained in Materials Science & Engineering. I received my Bachelors Degree in this field from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2012, and went on to pursue a PhD in this field at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which I received in 2017. In my PhD work, I studied the structure and mechanical behavior of bamboo and structural bamboo products. After my PhD, I worked at a German textile research institute (DITF-Denkendorf) in the area of management research. Then, I worked at the Center for Composite Materials at the University of Delaware, as a postdoctoral researcher. Later, I worked at the Center for Infrastructure, Energy & Space Testing at CU Boulder on large-scale structural testing of pipe specimens. Currently, I am Research Civil Engineer at NIST.
