The City of Gonzales is a full-service city and I’m responsible for maintaining and improving the streets, water, sewer and storm drain systems, WWTP, public buildings and city parks. Recent and current capital projects:• 1.0 MGD Expansion of the City’s WWTP ($30M) for treating ag-wash water generated at the processing facilities in the City’s Industrial Business Park• Community Center Complex ($35M) delivered through a Design/Build contract. Local voters approved a half-cent sales tax (Measure X) at the November 2020 election that will provide partial funding for the project. Other funding includes CDBG, grants, County contribution for library, and private contributions.• Gloria/Iverson/Johnson Canyon Road Pavement Reconstruction ($7M). Five-mile roadway alignment was rehabilitated through Full-Depth Reclamation process. Joint project with County of Monterey and Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority. Working on technical studies, impact fee study and fiscal analysis for a 1,300 acre annexation within City's Sphere of Influence. Total build-out will result in 6,800 new homes over next +30 years
