In 2006 5 colleagues and I started IP Parking. Our goal was to create the first web based parking system ever. And we succeeded, with our very successful Parkbase! As an architect I was from day one responsible for designing and implementing the backend of Parkbase. This consisted (and still does) of writing Functional Designs and the development of the data model, the business rules, Business Intelligence and API's.Techniques I use are amongst others .Net, C#, Entity Framework, Linq, Autofaq, Unity, WCF, REST, SQL Server, Reporting Service, Power BI and T-SQL. I love Test Driven Development, for which I use NUnit, Moq and FluentAssertions.Through the years my role shifted from not only developing, but also leading and coaching the software development team. I recently introduced Kanban, to further improve the development process.I love my job at IP Parking because of its versatility and the broadness of used techniques. From embedded software to complex Business Intelligence, it's all there!There are lots of challenges and opportunities ahead, guaranteeing I will not easily get bored.

As a software engineer, I was responsible for developing Business Intelligence in the BC-200 parking system.My job included developing reports, data modeling, and implementing business rules.As the product was written in C for Windows this was quite a challenge.I loved working at WPS, not only because of the challenges we faced each day but also because some of the great colleagues I met there.

My career at ICT consisted completely of being hired to the Royal Navy, so my job description can be found there.ICT was a great company, that invested a lot in schooling their personnel.

As team leader I was responsible for developing the so-called BIU (Bus Interface Unit). This component serves as a gateway between the different types of networks on a frigate.Developing here was a new experience as no program code was written. We used Intelligence-OO, which was a tool for Object Oriented Design, based on the Shlaer/Mellor method. The OO-tool then generated C-code from the models automatically.Working at the Navy was a great experience in a whole new world. I loved visiting the frigates. I've met there some of the friendliest colleagues ever, and I think back of those times with much pleasure.

My career started at Vialis, then still called Nederland Haarlem. I could not have had a better start. Nederland Haarlem was an employer that gave enough space for developing my skills, with very skilled and patient co-workers. I was not only able to develop my working skills, but also my personal skills; growing from an inexperienced youngster to a full-blown professional.Not a day goes by, that I not profit from all the lessons I learned on that job.My job consisted of developing access control systems for the Petrol Industry. I was able to develop systems for the major players: Shell, DSM, BASF, TaTa Steel, Arco, etc. Besides writing Functional design and programming, I made lots of visits to the plants, where my responsibilities ranged from interviewing stakeholders to delivering second line support.I also worked on the parking system of daughter company T.M.S., first maintaining the existing product written in Pascal, later implementing a Windows version of the product.
