Project Manager for a Pro-Poor Water Operator Partnership in Cebu, Philippines. I am now relocated back to the UK to continue these activities part-time until the end of 2022. The objectives of the project are to provide SDG-6 access to >80,000 urban poor, WaSH and disaster risk reduction to >25,000 of the most vulnerable beneficiaries and communal latrines serving >2,000 people.A big thank you to the Cebu project partners: VEI B.V., Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs (RVO), Water for Life Foundation, Metro Cebu Water District, Eau et Vie and Red Cross for making this project such a success. Resident Project Manager on a 5-year $8 million project to connect 80,000 of the city's urban poor to the local water company's network distribution system. The project is 55% grant funded by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. Working with four other Partners; these being Metro Cebu Water District (MCWD), Cebu City Government, Red Cross and Eau et Vie. Key deliverables are:1 - Extend the water distribution network by 19km2 - Connect 50,000 urban poor to the water network3 - Connect 30,000 of the very poor living in slums to the water network; provide micro-financing services so that the connection fee is spread over 64 weeks and water consumption is billed and collected daily (the customers cannot save money to pay a monthly bill)4 - Install 27 emergency generators at key water sources to enable water supply during power outages (improved network resilience)5 - Provide training and technical assistance to the water company so their operational and financial practices are improved6 - Deliver a WASH programme to the very poor and install latrines and hand wash facilities

ADB funded project to assist Saigon Water Corporation (SAWACO) in reducing their Non Revenue Water (NRW). I provided technical assistance to five of the sub-water companies in baselining their NRW, reducing commercial losses and leakage, re-organising the departments and improving their working practices / processes.

Worked on a 3-year World Bank Project as International Non Revenue Water Expert. Assisted in the design and installation of 125 DMAs and the reduction of NRW by 50,000 m3/day. I provided technical assistance on:1 - Commercial loss reduction by improving metering and billing, and reducing water theft; training and coaching to water supply companies; writing training and technical manuals2 - NRW reporting expert including baseline calculations, monthly calculations, economic level of leakage, Infrastructure Leakage Index, benchmarking and training3 - DMA and Pressure Management including DMA design and build, optimising DMA pressure, training and coaching to water supply companies. Establishing an Asset Management Framework for operating and maintaining the DMA

2 x five week missions to assist Dhaka Water (DAWASA) in network distribution and Non Revenue Water practices. I designed water networks in 7 very large slum areas - these have since been built and connected to DAWASA's water supply. I trained DAWASA engineers on EPANET modelling, NRW reduction and network design.

I project managed sustainable change management projects at the clients’ sites, improving processes, organisational behaviour and installing KPI control and reporting systems. I have worked on a variety of projects in this capacity including:1) Homeserve - the successful diagnostic stage of improving customer service and increasing operational efficiency for Homeserve Emergency Services. In the role of Business Support Manager, I provided STWI and its clients with water and wastewater management expertise including the operation, maintenance and lifecycle capital investment of assets and services. I have worked on a variety of national and international projects including:1) Ministry of Defence - successful bid and negotiation of a £1billion, 25-year PFI Contract; helped establish and run the resulting national service provision company2) Mayilad Water, Manila - technical and due dilligence consultancy3) CWA, Mauritius - successful bid and implementation of a water conservation / non-revenue water project4) SIDA, Six-African Nation - successful bid and project set-up for a five year change management contract acoss serveral water utilities

Responsible for a national water and wastewater service provider reporting directly to the Managing Director; my responsibilities included managing:1) The accounts, sales and service delivery of circa. thirty national clean and wastewater operation and maintenance contracts worth in excess of £5 million per annum.2) An asset base incorporating 400 sewage treatment works, 350 pumping stations, 5,000 miles of sewers, 3,500 pressure reducing valves, and several borehole and reservoir sites. 3) A team of approximately forty staff including key account managers, operation managers, craftsmen, field technicians, clerks and a sales team.4) The section’s safety, training and welfare5) Quality procedures to maintain ISO 9001 compliance.

Responsible for the management and implementation of a variety of commercial, hydraulic engineering projects ensuring they were completed within time and budget.I also organised, lectured and trained the theoretical and practical aspects of fluid measurement and hydraulics to MSc students, water companies and the Environment Agency.
