I am a PhD student in Human Nutrition at University College Dublin, with a master's degree in Public Health (Nutrition) from University College Dublin, and a bachelor of science (honours) degree in Sports Science and Health from Dublin City University. I communicate science online as the Health and Nutrition Science Communication Officer at Training121.Naturally, I have a passion for health, fitness, and nutrition science. My PhD is focused on developing personalised tools to facilitate a shift towards sustainable and healthy diets in Europe, as part of the Horizon Europe-funded PLAN'EAT project. Fundamental to this work, I aim to understand the individual-level factors that influence dietary behaviours as well as the health and nutrition effects of switching to a more sustainable and healthy diet. This ties in with my wider research interests, which include how dietary patterns relate to cardiometabolic disease and environmental sustainability, and how public health nutrition policy can leverage evidence in these areas towards the betterment of human and planetary health.I am a published and active nutrition researcher, and communicate about health and nutrition science on my Instagram page (@just.health.info) in my free time.
