In this role I was responsible for ABC International's television networks broadcasting to more than 40 countries across the Asia Pacific region with an audience reach of more than 180 million. I created and implemented a network strategy for Australia Network as part of the ABC's remit from the Department of Foreign Affairs which funded the network. Following budget cuts I then transitioned the network to Australia Plus Television successfully maintaining our audiences in the region.During this time is conceptualised and created a slate of successful new programs including Food Bowl, Fashion Asia, Pacific Sport 360, AusBizAsia, Nine Network on Assignment, Excited Particles and Dragon's Footprints. During this time I successfully completed the ABC’s Advanced Leadership Development Program, a 12 month course focussed on strategic management skills.

My responsibilities were managing the team producing television, radio and online news in the ABC's Asia Pacific News Centre, the only Australian newsroom dedicated to delivering news to and from the region. This involved managing a team running a 24 hour news operation producing 6 daily television news bulletins, hourly radio bulletins and specialist websites. The newsroom produced news covering the Asia Pacific region and interpreted Australian news for regional audiences. Major regional stories covered included the Japan tsunami, the Christchurch earthquake, the capture of Osama Bin Laden, the Arab Uprising and the 2012 United States elections. As part of our remit from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade we provided in depth coverage of Australian federal politics and state politics including the New South Wales and Queensland elections

In this role I was responsible for producing a weekly current affairs program for ABC TV with a focus on investigative journalism and politics. Highlights include coverage of the South Australian election with three live studio debates plus a live special and debate on the state budget. Other highlights include a special live program covering the announcement of Mary Mackillop’s sainthood and investigations into outlawing bikie clubs, and the performance of the South Australian justice system.

In this role I managed the integration of the ABC's children’s news unit into News Division. I was responsible for the production of the weekly news education program Behind the News which explains complex news stories to school children. I also played a leading role creating 2 new children's creating two new programs for the ABC’s children’s station, ABC 3 which were News on 3 and BTN Extra,

Responsible for successful weekly current affairs program for ABC TV focused on politics and government policy. Over 4 years the program won six South Australian Media Awards for best current affairs stories and broadcaster plus two national awards including a Walkley Award commendation. Some program highlights included:o Coverage of state elections and budgets including live studio debates with State Premier and ministerso Long term investigation into abuse in Anglican Church leading to inquiry and resignation of Archbishopo In depth coverage of the Kapunda Road Royal Commission investigating police and the Department of Public Prosecution’s handling of controversial legal case
