Business Improvement Consultant
CurrentIn September 2023, Rio Tinto-QMM launched the LES (Leadership d’Excellence pour Superviseurs) Programme to enhance the capabilities of supervisory and operational front-line leaders, aiming to boost daily productivity and profitability. I worked closely with 17 supervisors from the engineering, marine, logistics, and laboratory business units, with the primary goal of fostering a culture of Business Excellence. My achievements in this program included:Effectively assisted the project manager in designing strategies to mitigate the protest issue, which posed a single point of failure and threatened the success of the entire project.Conducting a comprehensive review of existing policies in the engineering department, which revealed deficiencies in the contractor enrollment and recruitment policy. And, collaborating with key stakeholders to recommend new guidelines for improvement.Successfully transforming the mindsets of supervisory and operational front-line leaders from unstructured and reactive decision-makers to innovative thinkers.Implementing efficient maintenance practices, including short interval controls during shutdowns and pit-stops, to enhance productivity and align with strategic objectives.Collaborating with internal stakeholders and conducted on/off-site observations to identify and improve the outcomes of operational processes, resulting in significant improvements in efficiency, cost reduction, and increased customer satisfaction.Working with cross-functional teams to understand and review KPIs adopted to measure operational efficiency. Instilling a Kaizen culture in leaders by providing on-the-floor coaching and engaging them in recognizing process improvement opportunities. Facilitating the development and execution of small-scale transformational projects to streamline processes.Improving leaders’ competencies and role execution through on-the floor coaching and the implementation of lean tools.
