CurrentI have worked in Relationship Checking within PwC Operate. This is part of the compliance team which sits in London, in Belfast we are responsible for processing checks before PwC begin an engagement checking for conflicts of interest and creating ethical walls to avoid conflicting teams from working closely. I have also been working on the checks we receive in regards to audit clients whether it be new audit tenders, acquisitions or change in ownership. This has allowed me to develop my knowledge of Public Interest Entities (PIEs) and the restrictions that apply to these. Further due to the success that the 'audit cell' of our team had whilst I was leading it, a significant portion of the firm's Independence Assessment process moved from London to Belfast. This involved a week long training programme, and we are now responsible for beginning the independence assessment of an client, collating all information of the non audit services from both the UK and Global PwC firms.
