The heritage Microbial Control Business was integrated into Lanxess MPP (Material Protection Products).• Technical Support to our tollers re. upscaling, production, special tests, reworks, cleaning procedures, product wheel, compatibility of materials of construction, optimisation of processes with the aim of production capacity increase etc. • Technical Support to internal groups such as quality assurance, product development & formulation, distribution, Regulatory etc. e.g. for special batch releases (quality waivers), raw material qualification, stability studies, chemical compositions, shelf life extensions, setting transport temperatures etc. • Managing the technical know-how of our business unit, including the drafting of comprehensive technical product documentation (technology packages).Achievements: • Saving substiantial amounts of money each year alone by guidance through complex reworks of failed batches (instead of material disposal).• Critical Support enabling the successful transfer of production to a new toller.

Dow Microbial Control was acquired by DuPont.• Formulation: Development and stabilisation of liquid and pasty biocidal formulations for microbial control (bacteria, yeast, fungi, algae) in finished products for all kinds of applications, e.g. for household and personal care, paint & coatings, water treatment, marine antifouling, metal working fluids, plastics, textiles etc.• Hands-on execution of stability studies, material compatibility testing (e.g. w.r.t. corrosion) and phys.-chem. analyses incl. HPLCAchievements:• guided the successful development and characterisation of 2 product formulations.• managed the dismantling and setting up of a fully equiped formulation lab.

The former Acima Business was integrated into Dow Microbial Control.• Formulation: Development and stabilisation of liquid and pasty biocidal formulations for microbial control (bacteria, yeast, fungi, algae) in finished products for all kinds of applications, e.g. for household and personal care, paint & coatings, water treatment, marine antifouling, metal working fluids, plastics, textiles etc. • Stability studies, material compatibility testing (e.g. w.r.t. corrosion) and phys.-chem. analyses incl. HPLC • Screening and identification of synergistic biocide combinations with/without booster with the help of an automated screening equipment (robot). and comprehensive patent analysis in the area of in-can preservation.• Raw material evaluation and Technical Support to production (upscaling, reworks), quality assurance etc.Achievements• managed the development and characterisation of 12+ formulated products commercialized successfully• achieved 4 granted patents and filed 2 patent applications

Acima AG was acquired by Dow in 2009.I was supervisor of 3 lab technicians in the R&D lab.Similar job activities as in the sections described above (2013-2022).Achievements:• managed the development and characterisation of 13+ formulated products commercialized successfully• achieved 4 granted patents

• Development and stabilisation of liquid or lyophilised pharmaceutical preparations of active ingredients for parenteral administration, e.g. as blood substitute and/or for maintaining the human immune system.• Thermal analysis (TA) and use of differential calorimetry (DSC) for the determination of the glass transition temperature of protein preparations as basis for the optimisation of lyophilisation processes. • Evaluation of primary packaging containers for their suitability for aseptic filling and packaging of pharmaceutical products under GMP.Achievements:• Implemented the Thermal Analysis / DSC equipment platform in the R&D lab as basis for developing lyophilisation processes most efficiently.• Identified the primary packaging material with most robust performance in the aseptic filling process out of a selection of materials.

I worked for the heritage Fluka Chemie AG that was acquired by Sigma-Aldrich around 1993.I was the Technical Service Manager as of 1996, supervising 3 technical assistants (2 part-time).• I supported the international clientele and subsidiaries in German, English and French in the use of Fluka chemicals (> 20'000). • I used the inputs from my group's customer contacts to make suggestions to the marketing department regarding product range extensions. • I compiled technical product information from suppliers, dealt with customer complaints and was the interface to the laboratory.Achievements:• Each year I proposed dozens of chemicals and analytical kits that were subsequently selected for the annual product range extension campaign.• Supported our product management in OEM projects with customers (incl. visits) using our fluorescent dyes as chemical component.
