Fitz embodies the scriptural call to serve one another in love, making him a valued leader and a cherished ally in our mission to uplift those who have served our nation. In reflecting upon the shared journey and the fruits of labor, I am filled with gratitude for Patrick's friendship, leadership, and service. His contributions reach far beyond the immediate tasks at hand, fostering a community of support, respect, and unity. I wholeheartedly endorse and recommend Patrick (Fitz)hugh for any endeavor he chooses to pursue. His exemplary service, leadership, and compassionate heart make him a standout individual in any setting. Together, as we continue to serve our Military community and beyond, let us remember our shared commitment to making a positive impact, guided by our faith and united in purpose. One team; one fight!", "I had the pleasure of working with Patrick from 2017 to 2022 and he is simply one of the finest leaders and people I have ever known. I consider myself a student of leadership and, in addition to being in leadership positions for more than 30 years, I consistently study other leaders along with digesting other content from notable authors and leaders on the subject. When I think of the criteria for great leaders with whom I have served and observed, there is no doubt that Patrick possesses all of these qualities and operates at a very high level. Among these criteria, the ones that stand out the most are that he is an empowering, enlightened, empathetic and strategic leader. I have personally witnessed Patrick empower others through trust and belief in their ability to deliver an outcome. He provides them with resources and then gets out of their way. He starts empowerment by simply asking questions versus stating his position. He is enlightened in his grasp of the current environment, the headwinds and tailwinds along with his deep understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. He has applied this skillset in his role as site director by working with local non-profits and ESG oriented organizations to deliver fantastic outcomes. He is empathetic in his consideration of others and his willingness to listen. Patrick is a master of the "tell me more" mindset and his desire to learn and connect with others is at the next level of leadership. Finally, he is strategic. He readily embraced that "what is the problem we are solving" philosophy along with the decision making process to deliver significant outcomes. He did this in the NPO space and provided a strategic and criteria based decision making process to add clarity and outcome orientation to the grant process at USAA. In doing so, he reshaped the framework and produced a better and more data driven approach. He also applied the decision making process by leading the pandemic response that included transitioning over 3000 employees to work from home. The bottom line is that he is one of the most exceptional leaders with whom I have worked and it was an honor serving with him. My best advice for anyone working with Patrick is simply to give him the mission, given him the resources and the parameters and then get out of his way because he will deliver and he will do so in the most inclusive and positive way. I recommend Patrick without hesitation and without limitation.", and "A big highlight of my time at USAA was working with passionate, supportive leaders like Patrick. He bleeds for USAA and the Phoenix campus, and his efforts have made it one of the best organizations in the valley. Thank you Patrick for demonstrating servant leadership day in and day out, even when you thought no one was looking. I'll miss working with you my friend!"
